Most people derive the RCD protection for their pond equipment from the use of an RCD plug or adaptor. While these are perfectly suitable for protecting people from the risk of electrocution, there is still a potential risk when it comes to the fish. Because RCD plugs and adaptors are electrically latched, they trip in the event of a power failure to the house, and need resetting when the power is restored. This can be a problem if the occupants are away for an extended period, during which time the RCD trips. Make sure your customers have the correct product installed, so they don't return from holiday to find that their prize koi have turned blue in the face through lack of aeration.
